The aim of the festival is to encourage young female composers to introduce their work abroad their countries, rehearse with new musicians and develop a network among the young generation of interpreteurs and composers in the Balkan area.
The first edition was addressed to women composers from Greece, Bulgaria and Romania with the will to include more Balkan countries in the future. It was very inspiring to suggest instruments that have an important role in Balkan music tradition and at the same time are of vital importance in the music of 21st century.
The idea has been developed in the Cultural Management Academy 2017 Bucharest, Sofia, Thessaloniki and funded by the Goethe Institut.
The selection of the pieces has been in collaboration with La.Re.Co.M-DMSA of the University of Macedonia and the non-profit organization "beartive"
